In reply to INSULATION - WHAT'S THE BEST? by ANNETTE on July 14th, 2000 05:10 PM [Go to top of thread]

Hi Annette,
I live in Bryan-College Station and just had icynene put in a old house I am restoring. It's good for it's insulating properties, a vapor barrier and knocking down sound. It also gets in the nooks and crannies that batt can't. I think the "dream" insulation would be the icyenene foam with the radient barrier Brian mentioned. Both are somewhat expensive if that's a factor. I also intend to use it to seal my attic and the AC ductwork when it's ready. If you need more info on icynene let me know. I found two companies in Houston that put it in. One didn't seem interested in doing out-of-town work.......I don't know how "near" Houston you are.
