Insulating duct work

Posted by Perry F on February 11th, 2003 03:28 PM

I am trying to figure out the best material to use to insulate the ductwork for my HVAC ducts in my basement. The basement is unfurnish and it gets pretty cold. The fiberglass stuff I see is only a R of 4.0 so I don't really want to go throught the trouble/cost for such a little benefit.
So I am now thinking of the AEROFOIL or the reflective bubble wrap???

Any ideas of the R value of this? Comments?

Any input would be appreciated.
