Insulating basement

Linda, many times the real key to keeping your basement warmer is not insulating framed-in walls, but sealing off drafts & insulating around the mudsill, rim joist, windows (especially those small, metal-frame type, and any points where services enter/leave the home.

See how much of this you can do first. In the finished areas access to most of these will be prohibitive, but check around the windows & the rest of the basement for drafts & seal what you can. Best of luck
