insulating a 140 year old house

Posted by Andy Wolters on July 4th, 2001 08:32 PM

My house is constructed using 1x6 boards laid on their side resulting in a home with six inch walls from top to bottom. The interior has plaster walls and the exterior is insullbrick (we are removing). Should we insulate from the inside or on the outside and cover in siding materials? Will insulating from the outside cause moisture problems in solid 6 inch walls or would we be safer removing the plaster and insulaating from the interior?
