In reply to installing lights in plaster ceiling by Denise on January 1st, 2002 08:51 PM [Go to top of thread]

I am installing a track light where I had a 70's fixture that was hideous. The light is in the kitchen and has two switches.

I got the light connected, the black to the black wire, the white to the white wire. One of the existing copper (ground) wires is attached to the crossbar.

MY PROBLEM: I have too many ground wires left. One from the fixture and one coming from the house's electrical system. I tried putting them both on the crossbar (didn't work)

I tried putting all three together using a cap to connect them. Didn't work.

Do you have any suggestions? I have a copper wire hanging from the house's electrical system and one from the new fixture.

Thanks. I spent all my money on Christmas or I would hire an electrician.
