installing sump (for pump) in existing basement

Posted by Roland in NC on October 9th, 1999 09:25 PM

After finally getting the water out of my basement (cement floor), due to hurricane Floyd, I would like to install a sump for a pump. I plan to dig a 18 in. sq. by 18 in. deep hole, pour cement around a plywood form, the remove the form. How do I seal this new sump so water doesn't not leak in?
Water also leaked in through fine cracks in the floor. How can this be sealed?
