In jobs where there are very long runs of crown trim, there is a need to splice. I understand the concept of splicing at an angle, but that does not seem to really solve my problem: How do you keep trim from separating at joints to begin with? If the moisture content of the wood is 10% and the wood is keep in the average humidity that the space will have for a few days or more, why would the separations occur? Would it be due to fluctuations in humidity? How can one control this? HELP!!
