Installing Carpet

I have a question on installing Berber carpeting. After installing the tack strips and tacking down the pad, I'm unclear on how to do the edges - I've rented a power stretcher, kicker, chisel & carpet knife. I've been told that you stretch diagonally, secure on the tack strips with a light hammer taps and then use the kicker to do the sides and secure in the same manner. Do I then tuck in the edges with the chisel and cut with the knife or cut and then tuck? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. The room is square with no irregularities or cutouts. Thanks, Joe
