I am replacing old molding in my home. The wall are plaster backed by concrete. When I removed to old molding it left holes and cracked areas of the plaster and concrete. The nails that were used were also very large concrete nails at least 3 inches long.

I would like to know:

1. what's the best way to fill the holes left from removing the old molding?

and most importantly..

2. How can I affix the new molding ot the wall? Is there a glue or adhesive so I don't have to hammer into the plaster/concrete walls? If not what suggestion do you have as for the type of nails?

the new moldings will not give an astetic apperance as my new rugs will cover most of it.

Thanks in advance.
