be happy with the results. You definately could prime, sand, and paint the cabinets and they would look great, but I am concerned about adhesion of the paint during opening and grabing the handles during opening, and the banging of things against the doors and the usually kitchen operations.

I just do not think that the paint will stick to your satisfaction and to the rigors of the kitchen work.

If you have long or medium fingernails, then around the knobs or handles, the paint will come off with your nails hitting the paint over time.

therefore, I would not recommend it.

Get some new laminate tops and install them over the old and build on that.
