the brick courses are held to the main structure as being laid with a metal strap that keeps the brick going up and attached to the house as it proceeds.

You said that your home is brick and loose from the main house. Do you mean some individual brick or the entire wall in one section?

As far as consulting your insurance rep, this is your call. Something has shifted or moved or changed to cause the wall to become loose. Normally again, the first or bottom course of the brick wall should be built upon an apron of the slab of the home. Do you see any structural changes as you do a walk through of the home both inside and out?
