generally speaking the most common reasonthat siding bows and cups is that the instller pounded all the nails in too tight...not leaving enough clearance for the siding to slide back and forth as it expands/contracts...

to check if this is the case go to the hardware store and get a vinyl siding removal is basically a small hook at the end of a use this tool to slip behind the siding and unhook it from the piece beneath it...just check around a few of the places where the siding is bowed...and if the nails are tight just pull them out a tad so that there is about 1/16" clearance
