that is built that the rock goes onto you would be in awe.
Of course, the studs cannot curve, so the studs are intersected in a manner that closly create the curvature of the dome. Its a marvel.
Of course Most domes are big enough where gradual bending of the drywall is done, but with your small dome, that means more radical bending of the rock and the framing.
Allot of shimming is done also.
Yours can be done and will take much time to complete if your doing it your self. I would make sure that I tackle this job during a time of year when very little rain falls.
Your angles on the 2x4 might be only 5degrees or less and just allot of angles to make your gradual arch. Then you have to duplicate it all over the place many times.
I would have someone do it or forget the idea. Its expensive and labor labor intensive.
