identification of insulation

I recently opened my ceiling in my kitchen, which is an addition, and although there was limited insulation in this part it was the original houses insulation that concerns me. The insulation is grey almost like pillow stuffing, when they did use asbestos for insulation in the attic is there any sure fire way to identify it....if so do you have any pictures.
I'm wearing all the proper resperator gear but asbestos has a life of it own when disturbed. I have a 5 year old little girl and rather than continue with this project I'm wondering if I shouldn't just seal the sealing up again. Would you direct me to someone who can definitely help me.....I have several contractors opinion but just want to make sure.......Thanks Raul
