The icemaker in our refrigerator - an old Sears - was having trouble ejecting the ice, so I elected to replace it. The job was a little complex as the replacement was "generic" and some tailoring of the connectors was needed.
It seems to work ok except that it doesn't fill fully. I realize that the filling solenoid is external to the ice maker, but I have no idea what controls the solenoid. That is, is it activated for a time determined by something on the icemaker itself, or is it just a fixed time or what?
