YES YOU CAN PAINT YOUR FORMICA COUNTER TOP. YOUR FIRST STEP IS TO LIGHTLY SAND TO MAKE SURE ALL GREASE, ETC IS OFF. THEN PRIME WITH A PRODUCT CALLED "FRESH START" MADE BY BENJAMINE MOORE. THERE IS A PRODUCT CALLED "KYANIZE" FOUND IN YOUR BETTER PAINT STORES. THIS PAINT IS MADE FOR FORMICA, BUT AS LONG AS YOU USE "FRESH START" YOU DON'T REALLY NEED TO BUY THIS EXPENSIVE PAINT. I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE SO FAR. IN MY OLD HOUSE I BOUGHT THE "KYANIZE" PAINT AND IN MY PRESENT HOME I JUST USED REGULAR SEARS EGGSHELL INTERIOR PAINT. I PUT ON ONE COAT, THEN LIGHTED IT UP AND PUT LATEX GLAZE IN THE CAN AND TOOK A RAG TO IT, TO MAKE IT LOOK MARBLIE,OR LEATHERIE. MY OLD HOUSE STILL HAS THIS COUNTER TOP AND I PAINTED IT OVER TEN YEARS AGO. IF YOU USE THE KYANIZE PAINT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT ON THE POLYURATHAN, BUT I DID ANYWAY. THREE COATS IS WHAT I SUGGEST. EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED MORE INFO.
