I don't know if the craftsman doors are chain drive or screw drive, but if they are chain drive, the motor doesn't HAVE to be in a straight line with the direction of door travel, just find a couple of sprockets and you can turn the openers 90*, move them to the side and run the carriage all the way back to the ducts... (extend the chain or cable length to do this)

Hey, it was an inspiration, it may not work either.

Let me know, I'm curious...

One more idea,

Tie the doors together with a 2x4, mount one opener on the center, and run the opener VERTICAL on the space between the doors. No one ever said the opener HAS to operate from the TOP of the door...

I know, this will be filed along with the velcro on the ceiling tile idea, but what the heck, it could work...
