I shoulda used oil-based--now how do I remove latex?

Posted by Linda H. on October 23rd, 2000 12:11 PM

I have a new set of Therma-Tru steel front doors, pre-primed. NO ONE mentioned that I had to use oil-base paint. I applied one coat of acrylic latex, which flakes off if you look at it the wrong way. How do I get this coat of paint off my doors without wrecking the surface underneath?

I know I'll want to use something gentle, and proably re-prime anyway, just to be safe, but I'd love some advice before I learn again the hard way.
