Here is her question, it is out of my league and climate zone ;-)
Have been working on a 1907 plantation house located in deep south. Lead paint on windows was removed using Peel-Away 1 process. Windows made of cypress. 2 weeks after removal of lead paint windows were painted with Kilz Primer and covered with Sherwin Williams A-100 semi gloss latex paint. After several weeks brown/black liquid seeped through paint.; it is easily wiped off with warm wet cloth but reappears after some time. Paint removed again and later primed with Zinsser B-I-N Primer Sealer/Stain Killer, shellac based white pigmented under coat. This time moisture content of wood was monitored and paint was applied with moisture reading was less than 20% indicating wood had low water content. Seeping of dark liquid appeared again.
Please provide your assessment and recommendation on how to eliminate seeping of dark liquid through paint.
