Hi Angele, I'm "not going to claim to know what to do",
but I'll try to offer some advise and hopefully some of
the other regulars will post up as well. First off, you
will need to use a "paste" stripper for two layers of
paper and paint and let it soak for a LONG type so that
it can penetrate all of the "paint, paper, adhesive".
This will without doubt take several applications and
a lot of patience, and use a putty knife to remove each
layer as you go. Second, as for the bathroom (and actually
for the entire house) are you sure that it's drywall and
not plaster wallss? Anyway, you can patch the walls using
joint compound and sanding to achieve a smooth finish, just
go to your local hardware store and buy a can and be sure
that after sanding to use a "slightly damp" sponge to remove
any dust from the sanding. Good luck!
