I too have wanted to resurface laminate material. I own a Sauder laminate armoire. The outer surface is a peel-n-stick type of faux laminate and it is too light. I would like to to use a translucent tinter or stain to darken it to Mahogany/Walnut.

I am assuming that a sealer/primer would be required prior to any other step. I have seen linoleum painted and sealed using a primer coat of something to make the linoleum tacky enough to grab the paint.

So, bottom-line, I'll be watching this posting as well.
