I decided to resurface the patio....

Posted by Steve S. on August 29th, 2001 10:13 AM

that I originally was going to install pavers over. Saved a ton of money. I used Quikrete Concrete Resurfacer. I put it on to a thickness of about 1/8", per the instructions, using a squeegee. I followed the same contour that was on the existing patio.

Came out pretty good.

On the old patio, there was one corner that collected water after a heavy rain. Now that the patio looks new, I do not want the water collecting. Is there a way to drain the water? Should I dig a trench below the surface to move the water into the yard? My plan was dig a shallow trench, bury a piece of PVC cut in 1/2 so the water will have a path to run along, then cover it back up and reseed. Does this sound reasonable?

As a side note: The patio is nowhere near the house. It is in our back yard attached to the garage. It definitely slopes away from the garage, so that is not a concern.

Thanks again for all your help. Have a good day. -Steve
