I've tried, it's just too much!!

OK, all kidding aside. I've already admitted to Steve: that my carpentry skills stink. There are two ways a good carpenter justifies his price, one is his ability to be acurate and the other is in coping. Coping eludes me. I can lay a straight line of white paint against dark woodwork an not slop a single drop, but don't ask me to cope a corner. When it comes to trimming corners with base or chair rail, I cheat. I use Mongo's suggestion of taking two scrap pieces of wood and I cut them a 45 degrees, then I take them to the corner an see how close it is, then I adjust the saw and take another whack (just what the heck is a whack?) at it. It takes me forever and that's why I hire a good carpenter......Like Mongo.....
