you can rent a heavy roller for pushing out bubbles and air pockets. Its like a big rolling pin. Matter of fact, you could have used a rolling pin.

Was this sheet or squares?

If the glue has dried like you said, you are really out of luck. But you might try sticking a pin in the big holes and see if the air drains out, and you can try sticking it with a pin and using a hair dryer on that spot.

Or you could try not sticking a pin in the air pockets and just laying a piece of ice on the spot.
