Humidifier - Solenoid

Posted by rich on December 14th, 2001 11:34 AM

Recently, the water flow on my humidifier continues even after the blower shuts off. By cleaning the inlet, it seemed to slow it down, but not completely stop the flow. It never used to run or even trickle when the blower stopped. What is the process for checking the solenoid? I understand that removing one of the wires can help isolate the cause. There are two yellow wires from the solenoid leading to (what?)?? Must the humdifier be unplugged AND the red furnace Emergency switched off BEFORE removing the wire? Where should wire be when power is restored?
