You do get what you pay for... Janitrol is cheap. It's a low end unit. The warantee is guaranteed by the manufacture and not the installer. So what that a unit meets the BASIC standards of the federal goverment. What "local" standards must the manufacture meet? Nevertheless, just because a manufacture meets goverment standards does not make the product a good one for the money. My a/c man who has been in the business for 25 plus years states that his experience with Janitrol is that they last at the most 7 years or so. Like I said, you get what you pay for.
