How to tell if a circuit can handle an additional draw...

Posted by KristyH on October 19th, 1999 08:35 AM

I'm planning on installing a bathroom fan (still....). I'd like to tap into an existing circuit to power it, but, quite frankly, I'm not sure how to tell if I'll overload the circuit by doing so. Is there an easy test to verify this? (I'm obviously not an electrician, but basic wiring is not out of my realm -- I've done this before, but on a circuit I knew was barely used...)This circuit currently handles all overhead lighting in my home.

Thanks in advance for any help.
