How to define paint boundaries

Posted by Beverly on March 21st, 1999 02:44 PM

We are in the process of painting our entire house (it's brand new, but the builder's paint is flat, and was sprayed on lightly!), and we are painting our family room and kitchen area a sage green color. My question is this.....we have a large open area (like a large window) between our family and living room. We will eventually be putting in shutters to separate the two rooms more. I don't know whether we should paint the inside perameter with the sage green, or the swiss coffee (basically white) that we have painted the living room and dining room in. When we install the shutters, will they rest in the middle of this window, or be flush with one side or the other? The edges on the family room side are rounded, and are squared on the living room side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way, the shutters will be white. Thanks.
