I have a small leak in the house that I framed last October above 2 of our exterior french doors. I am suspecting that it has something to do with the way that the siders put up the J channel and that water is collecting above the door, trickling behind the siding and running into the wall. I should be able to figure out how to fix it but I was wondering if the continued water leakage has damaged the untreated lumber in my walls? I have 1/2" exterior grade osb for sheathing and TYVAK house wrap under the siding. Does this type of construction alow small leaks within the walls to breath enough to dry themselves out?
