How do I attach a plate of mirror glass directly to drywall?

I have been tinkering around with a do-it- yourselfer for about a year now. I've been remodeling my bedroom. In the corner behind my door, there is a chimney. We already attached drywall over it, and I would like to improve upon it. I would like to attach a 4' piece of mirror glass to the upper portion of it and surround it with a nice frame. Being that it's directly over a chimney, I'm afraid of screwing anymore screws into the brick behind it for the fear of Carbonmonoxide leaking into the house.
Is there a cement like the stuff they use on ceramic tiles? I don't really trust liquid nail.
Wouldn't the drywall peel under the weight of the mirror glass. I lift those things at work every now and then, and they have quite a bit of weigth to them.
