i've removed linolium tile from a wood parquet floor-it must have been there for at least 7 or 8 years. how can i remove the sticky stuff? i did not try turpentine yet, but i tried soap, murphy's oil, vinegar, nail polish remover and coca cola. i do not want to sand it-it's a rental apartment and i have no room to move the furniture. i don't know what kind of wood it is. it's a great dep reddish brown, but i'm sure it has nothing to do with the type of wood it is. i thing it's dirt and the linolium glue that changed it that color. i want to clean it and spray old english on it and just leave it in it's pre-war building glory.
