Hi Diane,

I agree with the others. One possible solution although you may consider it permanent is to visit a carpet store for Remanents. Yes, they have them big enough to cover a room or 2. The carpeting doesn't necessarily have to go from wall to wall. You may have seen Persian-type Rugs layed out on nice, hardwood floors. Usually, they're only big enough that they're 2-3' from the walls. In your situation, it's the same principal. And if it's temporary, you may consider nixing the padding.
