Yeah, Jay J, I grew up in California so I know about the risks of shaky, non-reinforced foundations.
But, fishing jokes aside, the whole United States is NOT a quake zone! Still, I don't think that means post-and-pier flourishes in areas away from the West Coast, does it?
"Why not?" is my question. It surely is a lot cheaper than the more conventional poured concrete foundation, but looks a whole lot better than, say, a mobile home.
