Ok, I understand that we can do this, and yes my husband works well with a reciprocating saw. But, now how do we attach the new plywood where it meets the wall? Does it have to be where there is a joint available or can we frame out the area that needs to be replaced and put the new plywood down?

We are replacing all the subfloor in the bathroom and then putting down the backerboard.
