house not resting on PT soleplate. How to protect?

Posted by ralph on February 25th, 2001 03:53 PM

Short of lift the house up and installing soleplates, how do I protect it? It has joists resting on concrete blocks and extending out 6 inches overhang. The walls are supported by the overhung part. There is no termite shield on the outside foundation or the crawlspace foundations. Block walls are 2-3 feet off ground so visibility is good for termite inspections, and moisture in the crawlspace is minimal with a sumppump. Best Practices is what I am looking for.
