I would like to level an old house built in 1925. I do not want to hire a house leveling company. I am going to do it as simply & inexpensive as possible, but would like it to last awhile. I plan to use 16"x16"x2"thick concrete pads placed on the ground under the house, every 6' to 8' apart. Then stacking 8"x 8" half cinder blocks and steel shims up to the beams. How long will this method last on clay-gumbo soil? The house is 50 miles north of Dallas. Thank you, Dan
