Thank you ALL so much for responding. I'm not a fixer-upper, but, I'm trying. It's all just so confusing. It's even more frustrating to buy an appliance like this hot water heater, have it do something that seems abnormal from the first time it's used, and to go back to the point of purchase for help and not get it. The tank still hisses and spits for several minutes after a long use, but at no other time. I was actually thinking yesterday, that condensation or not...all that water dripping where it's not supposed to...HAS to cause problems in the long run. I wish that dealers weren't so profit oriented that they completely ignored customer service. That's a double whammy for the ignorant Non-fixer-upper. I'm glad there is a place here on the net to go to for advice. Thank you, all.
