Hot Gun?

Thanks Bob for the quick follow up. I'm real hesitant with the hot gun solution though as we had a project in NY and hot gunned some paint on the interior. That was my first lesson on heat and lead based paint. (I got mild lead poisoning) As the house is 100 years old, I'm sure there is lead somewhere underneath. Question: Could I remove the Latex with a light water power washer, use an oil based primer,on the exposed wood areas, sand, then cover with a good 100% acrylic Latex? I've heard that the thing to do is prime oil base then cover in Latex. Any comments? And true...I'd never cover my house with plastic. I've come this far, why use modern?
