I'm really grateful I came across your post, but I must say it did scare the daylights out of us. We've done much reading and researching on the process over the last 10 years and have been convinced that we can save 15-40% on our home. We also have an aunt who general contracted and was able to work on some aspects of their home themselves. Having some skills to complete portions of our home, and knowledge in business in general, we once believed we could general contract.

I'd love if you could elaborate more on the risks, but specifically if we can expect this to save the kind of money we had hoped, or would the risks be too great to bother saving up to 40% on our home. Thanks for your time.
