Home Radiator Heating System

Posted by Carol Coyle on October 28th, 2001 12:25 PM

Another winter season upon us and getting ready to winterize the home. I have radiator heat in my home. It is a gas, hot water system. Every year I "bleed" the radiators to ensure that they are properly filled so that the system will operate properly. And every year after each fill of a radiator I open the water valve to allow more pressure into the system but my question is: "How much pressure, in terms of the numbers on the gauge, is the proper pressure?" I do not go over 28/29 lbs. Is this correct? Appreciate a reply for this new season. Thank you!
