We are planning on making an addition to the front of our home. Currently there is an addition that was made and the siding doesn't match in thickness. What would be the best was to accomplish this and also, do you have suggestions for having windows made to match the rest of the home? We want the addition to not look like an addition. The home was built in 1935 and where the addition was made, they put a vertical strip of wood and it is obvious that the siding doesn't fit. Will the rest of the original siding have to be lifted and mitered or can it successfully be done without disturbing it?
