Holes in studs

Hi Jim
Probably a non-issue. Studs, spaced at 16" OC, are structurally an overkill for most houses. A 3/4" hole bored through the stud will essentially have no structural affect.

Also, the hole should be on the inside of the centerline of the stud, with a small metal protection plate tacked over the outside of the stud to prevent errant nails/screws from going into the wire accidentally.

However, I'm sympathetic to your concern. This is one of the reason's I do my own work (smile)
