Like Jay, I not sure what you are asking, but if you want to convert a regular ceiling to a vaulted one then hold your horses. A vaulted ceiling still needs a special truss to support the roof weight as well as account for the spread. Your present ceiling joists are part of your present roof trusses/rafters that help support the roof and keep the walls from spreading. Your rafters would also need enough room to hold insulation as well as an air space for circulation above them which your present rafters probably aren't deep enough to do and for which vaulted ceiling trusses allow for.
