Pledge is a wax-based product. Try a hot rag on it and see what happens. After that, for the remaining pledge and dirt mark, use warm water and some dish soap. DON'T use a bristle 'anything'! Use the sponge. You may have to use many wipings.

At worst, if the problem is persistant, you can approach it in 2 other ways. 1) Spot-prime, then apply a new top coat to the primed area. See how it looks. 2) Spot prime and top coat the 1 wall. If your paint job is as recent as you say, you shouldn't notice a difference in the 'newer' paint vs. the 'older' paint.

Remember, if you rub too hard, you can take off the top coat! SO take your time. WOrst come to worst, you'll end up doing what you didn't want to do in the first place - Doing the wall all over again ...
