First, make sure you're not installing the hoses at toooooo sharp of an angle. Pull the machine away from the wall a bit more so there's no, possible kinking. If the 'crimp' gets stressed, it will leak, especially under pressure.
The hoses should install by hand. Maybe a 1/4 turn with channel locks when you're finished. If you've stripped the male connection, it needs to be replaced. (Use a flashlight and small mirror if necessary, and inspect the threads real well.) Buy yourself a GOOD set of hoses. As you can see, you've already spent TWICE the $$$ for hoses. That's probably what you would have spent for GOOD hoses. (Chalk it up to a lesson learned, and buy good ones.) If you can't find a better hose, contact the mfgr, visit an Appliance Retailer, or visit a Plumbing Supply Store.
