Keep as far away as you can from historic property issue. Once you're registered you're at the mercy of your local hysterical commission, and you need their approval to change a friggin light bulb, you'll get to paint your house any color they want, etc...
It may be fine for public buildings, but I dont want anyone tellin me I cant vinyl side my house so those commission dorks can get wood when they drive by my house. If they want props for their fiefdom they can buy it from me.
