High Pressure Sodium Lamp

can be substituted for mercury lamp if it is a mercury lamp. Look on the lamp and if it is an H lamp, you can replace it with HPS. A 250 watt mercury can be replaced with LUH215 215 watt high pressure sodium. 175 watt mercury (H39) can be replaced with LUH150 150 watt high pressure sodium lamp. If memory serves, the 250 watt merc lamp is designated an H37 but I would bet the fixture is a 175 watt merc as they are dirt cheap. If you can post back with specifics on the fixture, we can probably get you by with a lamp change. Luck, Kizmet
