Henry? Strip "stuck" linoleum with paint stripper??

Posted by First Time Dolly on June 28th, 1999 11:30 PM

I posted this weekend, with no answer, please help. I've removed (or thought I did) the linoleum from my dining room with the intend to finish the beautiful hard-wood floor. Unfortunately, in many places, the bottom of the linoleum has stuck to the floor. My husband is afraid it is too thick to sand away. So, I have been dry scraping (sure that's forbidden), tried dry heat, and small amount of water to "dissolve". Hah!! About all I've done so far is build my muscles, get frustrated, made little head-way, and decided this project will take me forever. My question is, will the chemicals I've seen on this Board including Citristrip work on glued linoleum? If not, please, please give me some advice.
Thanks a million,
