Help with hiring hardwood refinishers (contractors)

Posted by DSnail on March 30th, 1999 11:08 AM

There have been a lot of posts about doing this yourself. My life is way to out of control to give it a try but I'd like advice on hiring refinishers, if possible. I am in the process of getting numerous bids (I just got two very, very different ones) and am trying to get some outside info too. I am in SE PA. Anybody know good prices (pers sq ft & steps for sanding/finishing, no staining). Also, what is the deal with sealers. One guy puts two coats of sealer down before finishing. He said everyone should do it. This is the first I've heard of it. Any help?
