help with floor squeak

Posted by Jacqueline Krakovksy on May 31st, 2002 03:53 PM

I own a home with a Weyerhouser subfloor. The builder
advertised that it was screwed and glued to avoid squeaks but they still do. The builder has been back several times and even re-screwed all floors (I pointed out that it was not screwed in according to code). The floor squeaks don't originate between the joist- they originate where two pieces meet and there is no joist. There is even a slight bounce in these places. Is there anything I can do to fix this. The home sat for 3 months after framing because the contract fell through. Could this be contributing to my squeaking problem. I know this isn't structural, but this is annoyng. Can you help?
